At the end of the 90 day period of time, the group that ate the cumin lost an average of 4.5 pounds more weight, had larger reductions in body mass indexes, waist circumference, and cholesterol levels.
So what makes cumin so magical? Cumin is naturally high in phytosterols, which are plant chemicals know to prevent your body from absorbing cholesterol. Cumin also naturally raises your metabolic rate, and the higher your metabolic rate – the more fat you burn.
Another great aspect of cumin is that it is not hard to introduce into any diet. Cumin goes great with chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and even with good old black pepper.
