Anemia can be a very serious issue and is extremely common here in the United States. This issue can lead to things like fatigue and organ failure if not properly dealt with.

The most common type of anemia is caused by iron deficiency and generally, our diet is to blame for this. The causes for anemia can vary the type of anemia a person has, for instance, you could become anemic from heavy metal poisoning, poor nutrition (as mentioned above), prolonged medication, and even your menstrual cycle. Symptoms can include things like dizziness, weakness, fatigue, weak hair, weak nails, and even heart palpitations.

Luckily before the issue becomes too extreme we can fix it. Reversing anemia is something that requires just a few dietary changes. Beetroot is one of the best sources of iron so if you aren’t eating any you need to add it to your diet. If you combine beets with carrots you’re in for something special. This will boost your body’s absorption of iron. If you are anemic these drinks will help you tremendously.

1. Beet Juice

Ingredients:

Directions:

  • Wash the beetroots, lemon, and carrots.
  • Run them through the juicer.
  • Stir in the Brewer’s yeast and drink immediately.
  • Drink on an empty stomach for best results.

2. Beetroot, Spinach, and Berry Juice

Ingredients:

  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 1/2 of a beetroot
  • 1/2 of a cup of red berries
  • 1/4 of a lemon
  • 1 1/2 small radishes

Directions:

  • Wash all of the ingredients.
  • Chop the beetroot and the radishes.
  • Run everything through the juicer.
  • Drink.

3. Parsley Juice

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 of a bunch of parsley
  • 1/4th of a lemon
  • 1/2 of a cucumber
  • 1/2 of an orange or a green apple depending on your preference.

Directions:

  • Wash the ingredients well.
  • Run them all through the juicer.
  • Run everything through the juicer.
  • Drink.

 

4. Kiwi Juice

Ingredients:

  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Green Apple
  • 1 Kiwi
  • 1/2 of a tomato

Directions:

  • Wash the ingredients.
  • Juice them together.
  • Drink.

5. Spinach and Green Apple Juice

Ingredients:

  • 1 green apple
  • 4-5 ribs of celery
  • A bunch of spinach
  • 1/2 of a bunch of cilantro
  • 1 lemon slice
  • 1/2 inch of ginger

Directions:

  • Wash everything thoroughly.
  • Juice it all together.
  • Drink.
