Being anxious about a first date is healthy and natural. If you are experiencing an anxiety attack every day, that is an issue. Anxiety attacks can be triggered by multiple things. You can be easily stressed over small issues, and the next thing you know, you have lost the ability to even breathe. To get to a bare minimum, Anxiety is a term used to describe several disorders that cause nervousness, worrying, fear, and apprehension. These disorders affect how we behave and feel. Severe anxiety can be completely debilitating, while mild anxiety might just make you feel uneasy. Generally speaking, anxiety is when a reaction is out of proportion of what would normally be expected.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder is a chronic disorder characterized by excessive and long-lasting anxiety and worrying about nonspecific life events, objects, and situations. People who suffer from GAD often feel terrified of something that normally wouldn’t scare a person. They often do not know the root of their fears, making them difficult to conquer. They can experience a panic attack at any place or anytime. More extreme cases can lead to clinical depression and possibly suicide.

Typical treatment of someone who suffers from severe anxiety is to put them on a prescription, man-made, chemical packed drug. In other words, you may be trading your anxiety attacks in return for the inability to stay awake, drive, or even think properly. However, there is a discovered method to stop an anxiety attack without the use of any drugs. There is a practice of yoga called Pranayama. It is basically just changed breathing patterns. It has been shown to reduce anxiety, lower heart rate, and calm people down in general. The teacher, Gillian B, explains her troubles with anxiety disorders. She says that she found instantaneous relief after trying the method. In the video below she explains and demonstrates the processes of Pranayama.
