Patients have managed to recover from illnesses considered incurable many times over. How exactly can this be explained?
The Spontaneous Remission Project is a database of literally over three thousand five hundred case studies from medical literature. Among those, there are quite a few of incurable issues being cured without explanation. Lissa Rankin has blown my mind with her theory on how this has happened. According to her, the secret lies within the nurture and care of doctors and nurses.
She says that when the doctors tell you you’re going to be okay your body reacts positively to that by releasing a large amount of healing chemicals and neurotransmitters like endorphins, oxytocin, and nitric oxide. This is something that only happens when you are completely relaxed. Doctors who seem to connect with their patients will be more likely to help a patient be relaxed in this trying time.
If a doctor tells you that things are not looking good or mentions a deadline on how much longer you have in this world your body reacts negatively to it. This triggers fear and makes your body respond as if it is in danger. You will be releasing and producing more stress hormones than you will be able to deal with. This is especially terrible because stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline are known for shutting down one’s immune system.
She says that we should rethink the way that we keep people alive. Being positive releases positive things for the person. We have the ability to heal ourselves when put in the right situation. Being healthy and thriving is not as hard as it seems. To hear more of what Lissa has to say on this please take the time to watch the video below.
