Turmeric is one of the most beneficial spice to your body. It is packed with nutritional gold, and this is what happens to your body when you drink turmeric water every day!
Boiling water with turmeric in it is the best way to receive all of the benefits of this god-like spice. It can treat a variety of different health issues, but it is specifically good for your brain and your liver! You can ingest turmeric in several different ways, but this is by far the best. Turmeric is a spice originated from India. It comes from the dried and powdered roots of the Curcuma longa plant. Though you can get health benefits just from adding a pinch of turmeric to a meal, you can get even more advantages when you drink it diluted in water every morning. Your brain and your liver are especially benefited by this powerful spice.
Turmeric For the Brain
Turmeric is especially amazing for the brain because it can literally regenerate dead brain cells! Published in the journal Stem Cell Research & Therapy, this recent study both showcases yet another benefit of turmeric while providing evidence that the magic compound “curcumin” within turmeric isn’t the only compound responsible for the spice’s health benefits. Researchers noticed that a lesser known, fat-soluble component within turmeric, known as Ar-turmerone, may make “a promising candidate to support regeneration in neurologic disease.” This was discovered when they put neural stem cells in Petri dishes and bathed them in extracts of turmeric. They found that 80% more of the stem cells grow into neurons or other cells!
Turmeric For the Liver
Not only is turmeric amazing for the brain, but it seriously boosts the liver’s function. Drinking turmeric based tea can detox your liver completely in a matter of hours! When the liver is supported through the use of turmeric, it can also help to detox the blood, reduce inflammation, and prevent internal blood clotting. When the liver is properly cleansed, it also secretes bile which can help break down fats that store those nasty, unwanted toxins.
A study published in December of 2015, examined the effects of turmeric on the livers of cows. In the study, a major stress hormone in the liver was significantly reduced in the group of cows fed the polyphenol mixture consisting of turmeric and green tea. The study also showed that there was a reduction in irritation markers which suggested that turmeric could be used to reduce the effects of a fatty liver. This is because the enzymes in turmeric break down fats like these.
“Turmeric may help people with ulcerative colitis stay in remission. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic disease of the digestive tract where symptoms tend to come and go. In one double-blind, placebo-controlled study, people whose ulcerative colitis was in remission took either curcumin or placebo, along with conventional medical treatment, for 6 months. Those who took curcumin had a significantly lower relapse rate than those who took placebo”
