Colgate toothpaste has been around for quite some time now. They have always been a family trusted brand, until now. They have been using a secret ingredient that nobody knew about until now!
Colgate has been using an ingredient behind our backs, and it’s just as scary as it sounds. We put toothpaste in our mouths every single day, and they knowingly include ingredients that are known to cause cancer. What’s the ingredient? Triclosan, and it’s no good.
Triclosan has been linked to causing cancer in several different studies. It is a chemical that is actually in high production in a lot of personal hygiene products such as soap. It has also been linked to heart disease and heart failure in a new study! How is it even legal to include such a toxic ingredient in the everyday products of the public? Well, according to the FDA, “Triclosan is not known to be hazardous to humans…”
Another study shows that the chemical can also cause an interference with muscle function. The study was performed at the University of California-Davis. Their findings were dramatic. After mice were exposed to triclosan, heart muscle function was reduced by 25%. The grip strength of the mice was also reduced by 15%. Fish were exposed to triclosan and they experienced poorer swim performance. The author stated:
“Triclosan is found in virtually everyone’s home and is pervasive in the environment. These findings provide strong evidence that the chemical is of concern to both human and environmental health.”

Greedy corporations sneak all kinds of toxic chemicals into them to save a dollar or two, at the expense of your own health.
