Effective Home Remedies For Eye Styes

Eye styes are painful and ugly. They pop up out of nowhere and refuse to go away! Getting rid of an eye stye can be kind of tricky, but if you do it naturally it is always effective.

Styes, also known as chalazia are lumps along the edge of an eyelid. They are extremely painful and annoying, however, they are rarely a serious health issue. Styes and chalazia are a little different from each other but are still very similar. A stye is an infection that causes a tender red lump on the eyelid. When they occur, they take place inside the eyelid.

A chalazion is also a lump on the eyelid, but they are larger and do not hurt. They may both be related to blepharitis, a common problem that causes inflammation of the eyelid. Styes are caused by a bacterial infection. the bacteria grows in the root follicle of the eyelashes. Otc pharmaceuticals claim to be the solution to all of your eyelid issues, but they rarely ever work. If they do work, the styes come right back. That’s why you need to use these natural remedies.

Warm Compress – This is the most effective way to treat a stye. Wet a washcloth with warm water, and wring it out. Compress the rag onto the stye for about 5-20 minutes. Do this 3 to 4 times a day, and never try to squeeze or pop a stye!

Clean It With Soap and Water – cleaning the eyelid and the style with a mild and chemical free baby shampoo will effectively make the stye disappear. Do this once a day until it is gone. You can also clean it with a saline solution. Use a cotton swab or a cotton ball.

Warm tea Bags – Just like the warm compress, the warm tea bags work the same except they also have antibacterial properties. Black tea is the best for this. Boil water and drop the tea bag in a mug as if you were making tea. After steeping, remove the bag and let it drip out all the leftover tea. Apply the bag to the stye and keep it there for 5-20 minutes.

Avoid Makeup – when you have a stye infection makeup can make it even worse. It irritates the infection. You can additionally transfer the infection to your makeup tools and spread the infection.

Massage the Area – of course after washing your hands, massage the area around the stye. This will promote draining. Stop massaging it if it hurts.

Green tea – Green tea is an excellent natural remedy for styes. It works because it reduces inflammation and fights off the bacteria that caused the stye to begin with.

Turmeric – Turmeric belongs to the same family as ginger. It is highly recognized as an Ayurveda medicine for its pharmacological effects. It is used topically, orally, and inhaled as a steam.

Clove – Cloves are also used for treating toothaches. They are often referred to as the best toothache treatment. It has also been used for many other health issues for the past 2,000 years. Clove is highly anti-inflammatory properties.

Coriander Seeds – coriander is great for eye styes, laxative, antibacterial, diuretic, antipyretic, colds, nausea, joint pain, and indigestion.

Guava Leaves – Guava leaves are also a great natural inflammatory. It also has antinociceptive properties which are excellent for relieving pain and swelling. A 2010 study involving animals confirmed this, indicating its efficiency in treating inflammation, pain, and swelling.
